The next evolution is here: Selkirk LABS Project 008 13mm.
This is Selkirk’s introduction of the high-density PureFoam core paddle technology, available in a hybrid+ 13mm thickness. The LABS 008 pickleball paddle attacks the concept of paddle durability and responsiveness from its core, delivering a new evolution that will change the future of pickleball paddles.
Dampens vibration. Flexes to increase dwell time. Increased spin. Balanced pop. Forgiving sweet spot. No core crushing.
A CORE BREAKTHROUGH: Groundbreaking paddle core technology.
You never get complacent, and neither do we. So we weren’t satisfied with pickleball’s status quo of polypropylene-core paddles. Over time, these polypropylene cores get crushed and deformed – affecting the paddle’s responsiveness and making even the most routine shots unpredictable. What does that mean? You have to replace your paddle more often.
The solution: a completely new PureFoam core technology, made from high-density foam that resists crushing and deformation – increasing durability while reducing how often you need to replace your paddle.
Aside from durability improvements, the PureFoam core also enhances the paddle’s performance through an enlarged sweet spot and a less stiff feel than that of polypropylene cores. High-density foam dampens vibration and gives the paddle more responsiveness – flexing to increase the dwell time while creating spin and ensuring consistency throughout the paddle face. This added control is not at the expense of power – PureFoam’s high-density property creates lasting power.
It’s the future of paddle cores, and LABS members get it first with Project 008.
The 13mm thickness serves the versatile yet aggressive player with hybrid+ all-court performance. A T700 Raw Carbon Fiber Face allows for precise control and spin. The Thermoformed Construction with Additional Foam Wall surrounds the perimeter, enhancing the paddle’s responsiveness and durability while expanding the sweet spot to give you extra forgiveness.
Available in three shapes — Epic, Invikta, and Tour — the Project 008 offers tailored performance for different player preferences. Combined with thermoformed construction and PureFoam core, the 008 delivers durability, playability, and confidence across all areas of the court.
The Story
The 13mm Selkirk LABS Project 008 is designed for pickleball players seeking a hybrid+ paddle that blends power and control with long-lasting durability. Its high-density PureFoam core holds its form longer than polypropylene based on standard impact tests, offering consistent performance over time while setting a new standard for pickleball paddles.
Optimized for players with dynamic playstyles, the 13mm core creates a large sweet spot for added consistency and power, while retaining enough control to place shots with precision. The paddle's hybrid+ design makes it ideal for players who prefer a dynamic attacking approach.
The Project 008 features two core innovations:
PureFoam Core is hyper-responsive while resisting deformation over time.
Thermoformed Construction with Additional Foam Wall expands the sweet spot for extra forgiveness.
With its advanced materials and tailored shapes, the LABS Project 008 13mm paddle raises the bar for hybrid performance paddles, empowering players to dominate the court with power, precision, and confidence.
Available in three paddle shapes.
Epic | Long Handle & Standard Paddle Shape: Pairing a traditional pickleball paddle shape with a large surface area and a long handle, the Epic delivers the perfect blend of power and control. Versatile and well-rounded, the Epic paddle shape is ideal for the beginner and the seasoned pro.
Invikta| Longer Handle & Longest Paddle Shape. Favored for its increased sweet spot size when compared to other elongated pickleball paddle shapes, the Invikta is popular with intermediate to pro players. With Invikta, you get the elongated shape, a large sweet spot, and an even longer handle that provides more power, more reach, and more spin.
Tour | Longest Handle & Longest Paddle Shape. Refined from its earlier version, the new Tour shape combines a less rounded profile with a longer handle, offering a design that balances power, control, and adaptability. Its broader sweet spot enhances consistency, making it a more forgiving option for players seeking reliability across all shot types.

PureFoam Core for consistent shots and increased paddle lifespan.
As one of the first fully foam cores to meet rigorous playability standards, the PureFoam Core represents a new standard for pickleball paddles with its long-lasting durability and responsiveness. The high-density foam is engineered to resist crushing and deformation over time while expanding the sweet spot compared to traditional polypropylene-core paddles.
T700 Raw Carbon Fiber Face for spin and control.
The T700 Raw Carbon Fiber Face combines lightweight strength with superior responsiveness, for a balanced blend of pop and precise control.
Thermoformed Construction with Additional Foam Wall for an expanded sweet spot with extra forgiveness.
The Thermoformed Construction with Additional Foam Wall introduces a new level of durability and performance by reinforcing the paddle's edges. This advanced design incorporates a foam wall along the paddle's perimeter, seamlessly bonded during the thermoforming process. The foam wall enhances structural integrity while expanding the effective sweet spot, ensuring consistent performance across the entire face of the paddle.
By distributing impact forces more evenly, this construction reduces vibration and improves energy transfer, resulting in a paddle that feels solid yet responsive with every shot. The added foam wall also contributes to increased edge durability, making the paddle better equipped to withstand intense gameplay without compromising its aerodynamic profile.
Octagonal Handle for grip stability and quick maneuvers.
The Octagonal Handle improves grip stability and enables quick adjustments, empowering players to react with precision during fast-paced rallies.
We include tungsten tape with all 008 orders and we recommend you weight your paddle for optimal performance.
